Inpatient management allows you to admit patients and with a click on a graphical interface one can assign beds and manage bed-maintenance activities such as transfer patients between beds, control the status of beds for house-keeping or disinfections.

EMR (Electronic Medical Record)


The heart of the EMR module is the provider desktop manager. For IP, the Nurse desktop module performs the function. It helps physicians in handling all their day-to-day activities like viewing the list of appointments, on line ordering of investigation, procedures, drugs and consumables along with capturing of diagnosis of patients.

It is setup in a manner that would be familiar to the provider while offering myriad of time saving features. The module also helps the physician in retrieving patient medical records and in decision making like drug allergy indication and problems.

The features of the EMR are as listed below

Admission – Transfer – Discharge (ADT) Module


The ADT module of the IDMSys tracks all the Admissions, Discharges and Transfers in a hospital.  It handles the creation of temporary beds and allotting them to patients and deleting these beds etc.  It also supports facilities like admitting baby to mother’s bed and linking mother and baby in patient numbers etc. The bed type, location and tariff are mapped to each bed.

The features of the ADT module are listed below.

  • The system has the ability to do pre-admission activities like block bed, book medical equipment, book operation room, collect advance against the expected admission. A user friendly graphical interface displays the bed availability status.
  • The system comes with a complete pre discharge process.
  • The system has the capability to record all medical staff involved in the patient’s care process.
  • The system captures all payment details like insurance coverage or employer details in case of corporate clients.
  • Against each admission, the system records and displays all the details including orders, results, surgeries, procedures, medications and all patient encounter information.
  • The system has the ability to print personalized discharge instructions that indicates all departments involved. Prescription, and follow up appointments of the patient can be prepared at the time of discharge.
  • The system can also generate a discharge summary based on the details available in the System.
  • The system automatically releases the bed when a patient is discharged or transferred out to be handed over to the housekeeping department for cleaning and disinfections.


Nursing Station Module

The Nursing Station module of ERP caters to the requirement of the Nursing department in a hospital.  It has features like duty roster for the nurses, their day-to-day activities like patient monitoring, ordering investigations, drugs, procedures and capturing vital signs. It also gives provisions to capture the drugs administered and progress notes of the patient.

The detailed features of the Nursing Station module are listed below.

  • Ability to order: Ward Stock medications, sterile items, general items, laboratory tests, radiology examinations, procedures, maintenance work orders, and dietary requests etc.

  • The patient’s vital signs like temperature, blood pressure and pulse Rate can be recorded and graphical charts can be generated
  • The patient’s initial and final diagnosis can be recorded using the ICD9 or 10
  • Nurses can check the patients who are scheduled for surgical operations by the doctors.
  • Nurses can prepare the case for the operation and transfer the patient to the operation theater on the scheduled date/time. All required information can be recorded by the nursing staff on the patient attached electronic nursing forms that can be viewed/checked by doctors.
  • All medical information should be archived in the computerized patient record.
  • Ability to view all the radiology examination reports within the nurse window.
  • Drug request orders are classified as dispensed, rejected, pending etc.


Pharmacy Management Module


The Pharmacy Management module of ERP caters for maintenance of comprehensive drug database, dispensing and stock control functions of the pharmacy department.

  • The system maintains a centralized drug information system, covering complete drug formulary with information on the generic name and the trade name. The Hospital Inventory Module of ERP manages the hospital inventory of medical supplies, surgical supplies and lab and radiology items stocked by the hospital stores. The inventory module is integrated with all financial modules such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger as well as relevant Hospital Information System (HIS) modules such as Nursing stations, Medical Departments, OR and pharmacy.

Integration with Financials


ERP is tightly integrated with Sage ACCPAC ERP General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivables (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP). Transactions generated in Out Patient(OP), In-patient(IP) and Daycare bills are posted to Accounts Receivables (AR) module. The Corporate, Credit and Insurance transactions have two components, Patient Responsibility and Company Responsibility.

Patient responsibility amount collected through cash or credit card is posted to Account Receivables (AR) Receipts where as for Company Responsibility amount an invoice is generated and posted to Account Receivables (AR) Invoice. Inventory and Pharmacy items posted in these bills get the effect for Sales and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) in General Ledger.
